BACKGROUND
This thesis will explore access to open academic databases such as DiVA for identifying emerging trends and research gaps within the field of product development. By systematically analyzing existing academic publications, this study aims to offer data-driven insights that can guide future research efforts, ensuring that they align with both academic and industry needs. The approach not only enhances the efficiency of research planning but also contributes to more targeted and impactful studies in product development.
TASK
Some tasks that could be explored for this topic are:
- Train and utilize a model to gain insights for potential future work and state-of-the-art within product development.
- Compare identified trends with current industry needs and emerging technologies.
- Highlight areas within product development that present opportunities for new research.
- Develop a set of proposed research questions or topics based on the identified gaps.
- Justify the significance of each proposed direction in relation to both academic contribution and practical application in the industry.
